Sack attack; Rodgers limping after beating

I am on vacation in the Carribbean, but Sunday I was able to catch the Packer-Viking game. Some quick thoughts on what I witnessed, as football, though it means soccer down here still is as entertaining from this viewpoint.

  1. Rodgers, who is said to have two seperate sprains, is going to miss some time this season. I'm not sure when, but I think it is inevitable.
  2. Rodgers now has been sacked 31 times. He was sacked 34 times in 2008.
  3. Rodgers leads the NFL in QB Rating at 110.4 and has only been picked off twice in 2009.
  4. I started all three of those points with Rodgers.
  5. Rodgers is Roethlisberger like in the way he continues to hang on to the ball too long. He can take some of the heat off the O-line if he tries to get rid of the ball a little sooner.
  6. Jared Allen has 10.5 sacks on the season, 7.5 in two games versus Green Bay.
  7. Brett Favre made it a worse case scenario day for TT, throwing for four touchdowns on Sunday and stealing the show.
The Packers need to find a way to protect Rodgers better and they need to make sure he gets rid of the ball quicker, otherwise we might see more of Matt Flynn than anybody should have to see.
